Chelsea are keen on securing Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell in the summer
It was a frustrating transfer window for Chelsea as the club failed to reinforce the first-team with any signings. Having already secured the signing of Hakim Ziyech for the summer, the Blues are set to further reinforce Frank Lampard’s squad in the summer.
According to Goal (h/t Express), the club has identified three leading transfer targets to reinforce the attack and the left-back position.
Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is high on the list and is likely to command a fee above £100million. The Blues, however, face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United for his signature.
The Blues are also keen on securing Leipzig striker Timo Werner. However, once again, Liverpool could prove to be a spoilsport here.
The striker spoke of the Reds in glowering terms following the UCL victory over Tottenham. Werner has a release clause worth around £50.2million and is a cheaper alternative to Sancho.
A left-back is also on the agenda with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell the key target. With the Foxes in line for Champions League qualification, a January transfer for the 23-year-old was out of the question.
Chelsea will now have to ensure they qualify for the Champions League next season to have any chance of luring Chilwell. He is not expected to come cheap due to Leicester’s secure finances.
