Chelsea set back in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund ace Jude Bellingham
According to 90min (h/t Football.London), Borussia Dortmund are claimed to have no interest in selling Chelsea transfer target Jude Bellingham as they are looking to offer him a new contract. As things stand, nothing has been agreed upon so far.
The 18-year-old is a highly rated midfield prospect who has been sensational for the German giants. He has backed himself this season by scoring thrice and assisting six times in 15 appearances across all competitions.
The youngster had made the move to Germany from Birmingham City in 2020 for a fee of £25m excluding add-ons. The transfer saw him become the most expensive 17-year-old in the history of football, cementing his potential.
According to Eurosport (h/t Football.London), Chelsea were said to be interested in the player but was not successful as both Dortmund and Bellingham was also not interested. The Blues are still interested as someone of Bellingham’s ability comes across rarely.
According to The Sun (h/t Football.London), Manchester United are also interested in the young talent and are said to be leading among the competitors. While BVB are not entertaining the idea of selling him, it does not stop other sides from showing interest in the midfielder.
Thomas Tuchel’s side would need to step it up if the rumours are to be believed relating to the Englishman. He would continue to gather more interest in the future as he is already a big name for his club and country.
