Betting odds place Chelsea amongst clubs favourite to sign Paul Pogba
A report by Football.london highlights the fact that Sky Bet bookies have placed Chelsea fourth in the list of clubs who could sign Manchester United star Paul Pogba in January.
Mino Raiola, who is Paul Pogba’s agent, said earlier this month that Paul Pogba wants to leave Manchester United. And Sky Bet has some interesting odds regarding what the Frenchman’s next destination might be.
A return to Juventus has not been ruled out for Pogba, and the Old Lady lead the race at 5/2. Next in line are Real Madrid at 4/1 and Paris Saint-Germain at 8/1.
Next in the list are surprisingly Chelsea, at 16/1. There have been no indications in recent past that would suggest such a move, and hence this would come as a surprise to many. (h/t Football.london)
What is even more interesting is the fact that Chelsea are ahead of Barcelona, Manchester City, and Inter Milan. However, Paul Pogba has stated earlier that Real Madrid are his dream club.
A luxury signing?
Chelsea don’t have a shortage of central midfielders. N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Matteo Kovacic have adeptly occupied central midfield for Chelsea this season.
Pogba has also not seen as much game time as he is used to. The Frenchman has played the full 90 minutes in only 5 matches this season for United this season.
But a player like Paul Pogba can only strengthen any team’s midfield on paper. The 27-year-old is a World Cup winner with France and has won multiple top-flight accolades.

His pedigree cannot be doubted, but without any official reports, it is difficult to say if the deal could ever happen.
Moreover, Chelsea also have a budding talent in Billy Gilmour alongside some solid senior midfielders. It doesn’t seem as if it will be urgent for Chelsea to sign a player like Pogba.
