Chelsea stars left in awe of young starlet Billy Gilmour during training

According to The Telegraph (h/t Express), Chelsea first-team stars have been wowed by the exploits of 19-year-old Billy Gilmour during team training.

The midfielder is one of the club’s best young players and has often impressed when given the opportunity.

Gilmour enjoyed a good run out earlier this year before his 2019/20 campaign was cut short due to a knee injury. Now back to full fitness, the young Scotsman has wasted no time in enhancing his reputation amongst his peers.

Gilmour was the standout performer for the Blues in our final Champions League group stage tie against Krasnodar. With qualification already secured, Frank Lampard played a weaker side that also included Gilmour.

Despite the dead rubber, Gilmour put in an excellent performance that eventually saw him bag the Man of the Match award. The 19-year-old had earlier won the award in each of his Premier League and FA Cup debuts.

Given the options at his disposal, Gilmour was linked with a loan move away from the Bridge in January. (h/t Evening Standard)
