According to a report by Sky Sports, on-loan youngster Ethan Ampadu remains keen on a return to Chelsea once his spell with RB Leipzig is over. However, the report states that the player wants to help his temporary club achieve their goals before thinking of anything else.
Although his presence in Leipzig’s squad during their 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur marked only the second time that he was a part of Julian Nagelsmann’s starting XI, it is interesting to note that he is committed to the club’s cause.
“I am always watching Chelsea and seeing what is going on,” Ampadu said. “It is good to see the young players are shining at the moment.”
He went on to add: “I would like to go back, I aim to, but right now I am focused on Leipzig and finishing the season.”
Considering how young players like Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi have performed under Frank Lampard, it would be great if Ampadu becomes a part of the starting XI next season.
He certainly has the talent and that was evident as he put up a solid display to help Leipzig maintain a clean sheet against Tottenham. Let’s hope we can retain the youngster even after his loan spell is over.
