Transfer News: In-form Chelsea loanee scouted by two Italian giants in recent PL game

Transfer News: Juventus and Inter Milan sent scouts to watch Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher

According to the Sun, Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has attracted massive interest from Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan lately.

Gallagher has been one of the breakthrough stars of this season. Already bagging eight goals and five assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for Crystal palace, the 22-year-old has sent shockwaves around Europe. So far, his journey at Crystal Palace has been advantageous for his growth as he looks to smash his way into Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad.

Gallagher, who has a contract with Chelsea until 2025, is scheduled to return to Stamford Bridge next summer. Even though Chelsea have no intentions to sell such a talented youngster, the current situation regarding Chelsea’s ownership may oblige the Blues to lose him.

The situation has alerted foreign teams interested in signing Gallagher. It is believed that Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan put their scouts in the stands at Selhurst Park to watch the Chelsea loanee’s performance against Manchester City.

Due to the current sanctions on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, the Blues could face significant problems on and off the pitch. Youngsters like Gallagher could have second thoughts before committing to a long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s current midfield duo of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho isn’t getting any younger, and soon enough, the Blues would require fresh legs in the middle of the pitch. The recent injury outbreak at the club has further shown that only a few star players wouldn’t be enough to maintain a sustainable performance over the course of the season.

Amid such a situation, it’d be ideal for Chelsea to call back Gallagher this summer. Our coaching staff would get the time to groom him for a long-term future at the club. Out of him and Billy Gilmour- Chelsea’s other midfielder out on loan with a PL club- perhaps it is the former who has made a bigger impression.

But the excessive foreign interest is not suitable for our intentions. The urge to get more game time is often a factor to consider for most players but it remains to be seen if Inter and Juve could offer him more minutes than us.

Regardless of that, we must do everything in our power to keep the Englishman with us in London. The rise of players like Mason Mount and more recently Trevoh Chalobah would only offer assurance to Gallagher that if he is good enough, he will get a chance to impress with the first team.
