According to the club’s official Twitter account, Chelsea defeated Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium in their Premier League fixture earlier today.

The Blues delivered one of their most convincing performances of the season at early kick-off. Thomas Tuchel would have been livid with the draw against Burnley two weeks ago, and his side responded in style today.

There was constant pressing from the get-go, and they nearly scored as well after Ben Chilwell clipped the bar. However, Antonio Rudiger headed Chelsea into the lead with a looping jump from a corner. But they were not done yet.

Just before the half-hour mark, N’Golo Kante went on a driving run with the ball and the Leicester defence held off. The Frenchman ran till the edge of the box and tactfully slammed the ball into the corner, leaving the Blues two to the good. Jamie Vardy did not get a whiff of our goal in the first half.

Chelsea maintain their lead at the top of the table

The Foxes began the second half far more enthusiastically after making two changes. James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho came on, and the difference could be seen. The English playmaker was occupying spaces in between our backline and midfield and trying to combine with Vardy.

But Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho, and Kante held off the relentless pressing calmly. Tuchel then decided to bring on Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech. The pair immediately turned the screws on Leicester as the American came extremely close to scoring just 3 minutes after coming on the pitch.

He eventually got his goal, and Ziyech was the creator this time. Some trickery in the box by the Moroccan left Caglar Soyuncu for dead, and the USMNT international found some space into the box before squeezing the ball between Kasper Schmeichel’s legs.

The win meant that the West London club shall maintain their lead at the top of the table. Let us now see how some fans reacted on Twitter as the Blues ran rampant in the Midlands.
