Transfer News: Chelsea set to make second offer for Juventus star Federico Chiesa

According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t football.london), Chelsea are ready to go back in the market for Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

The Blues, who currently possess the likes of Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Mason Mount in their frontline, could be looking to make another addition to their ranks.

The West London club had apparently made an offer worth £85million to Juventus to secure the services of Federico Chiesa this summer, although that bid was never actually submitted, according to Calciomercato (h/t football.london).

Regardless, the London outfit are now ready to go back into the market for the Italian sensation as they look to bolster their frontline. At 23, Chiesa is a fantastic option for any team in the world and the former Fiorentina winger produced great numbers last season for Juventus.

The Italian featured 46 times for the Turin outfit last term and managed an incredible 15 goals and a further 11 assists in all competitions. This had also led to Liverpool chasing the winger’s signature this summer, but it is said that their £86million offer was rejected by the Old Lady.

Moreover, Chiesa is not the only Juventus star the club are interested in, as the Blues are also said to be eager to get a deal over the line for centre-back Matthijs de Ligt in 2022.

The club delved into the Serie A market this summer as well as they brought back Romelu Lukaku while they also tried to sign Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan. While they failed in their efforts to sign Hakimi, the West London club would be hoping that Juventus agree to a deal with them for Chiesa.
