Chelsea ready to hand Conor Gallagher with a first-team role next season if he maintains his form
According to Eurosport (h/t The Express), Chelsea are hoping Conor Gallagher can make the step up to the first team next season.
The 21-year-old, who is a product of the Cobham academy, has been sent out on loan to Crystal Palace this season. The Englishman is already providing rich dividends to the Eagles as he has managed to score 2 goals and provide 1 assist in 4 games under Patrick Vieira.
If Gallagher manages to provide one more assist this season, he would level his goal contributions (2 goals and 2 assists) for last season. The youngster was sent out on loan to West Brom at the start of last season, however, he could do little to nothing about the Baggies finishing 19th in the table and getting relegated back to the Championship.
However, the player’s confidence has never taken a hit while he has also been touted as one of the ‘finest’ prospects of Chelsea’s academy.
In fact, it is thought that there is ‘total belief’ that Gallagher will earn a place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad next season if he manages to maintain his current form at Palace.
Chelsea have been giving the youth a lot of opportunities in the past couple of seasons, courtesy of which the likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, Billy Gilmour, Reece James, Tino Anjorin, and Callum Hudson-Odoi have made their senior debuts for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Gallagher could be next in line, especially if he keeps up his current form and manages to maintain a starting role at the South London club this season.
The youngster joined the club as an 8-year-old, thus, it would be a dream come true for the 21-year-old if he manages to become part of the senior squad in the future.
