According to transfer news from Sport Witness (h/t Daily Mail), an imminent bid is expected from Chelsea for Jules Kounde. His agent Jonathan Kebe has relayed it to Sevilla that the Blues could soon send in an offer for the £68million-rated defender.
Chelsea took some time to complete a move for Romelu Lukaku and it was not until the start of August that the deal was done. That meant that there was far less time left for any other potential deals. Chelsea apparently had one in mind and it was that of Jules Kounde. The Sevilla starlet has come a long way since joining the club.
A Europa League winner already, Kounde was also handed a call-up to the Euros for France. Hence, Chelsea wasted no time in making him a priority target. Chelsea are also making preparations for a potential move by sanctioning player sales.
Now, it seems things are in motion already just with the transfer window set to close in about a week. Kounde’s agent, Jonathan Kebe has informed Sevilla that Chelsea are set to arrive with a potential bid for his client and rather soon. Further details have not been revealed as to how much Chelsea are set to offer.
The young Frenchman is a solid presence at the back and helped Sevilla clinch top-four last season. Kounde’s addition to Chelsea’s already solid backline is an appealing prospect. He would be a long-term successor for Cesar Azpilicueta on the right. Now, only the small task of completing this deal is left.
