Team News: Chelsea confirm squad for Super Cup against Villarreal

According to team news from Football.london, Chelsea have confirmed their 24-man squad to face Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup. A host of stars were seen touching down at Belfast for the final scheduled for tomorrow.

The first piece of silverware is up for grabs for the Blues. They are scheduled to take on the Europa League winners Villarreal. Thomas Tuchel will be hoping that he can add another piece of silverware to that Champions League trophy he won back in May and kick start the season on a winning note.

There were several questions regarding the squad that was to travel to Northern Ireland for the one-off game. Tuchel will be happy that he has most of his squad back for the games after their international commitments and holidays. England stars Reece James and Mason Mount were seen and are expected to play a part.

More first-team stars such as Thiago Silva, Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Havertz and Rudiger were spotted. A host of fringe players were also seen. The likes of Trevor Chalobah, Tammy Abraham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Marcus Bettinelli and Callum Hudson-Odoi also made the trip. Here is the full 24-man squad which is the final list.

Goalkeepers: Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Betinelli

A huge talking point was whether Romelu Lukaku would be in the squad but it appears Chelsea will have to wait for their new man. He is yet to be unveiled officially and the game comes too soon for him to take part in.
