Transfer News: Chelsea looking to reshuffle defence ahead of Jules Kounde move
According to transfer news from ABC (h/t Mirror), Chelsea are looking to bring in Jules Kounde and could reshuffle their defence to sign him. The Blues have expressed interest in the Sevilla starlet and will move on two of their defenders to make room. Kurt Zouma is being pointed towards the exit while Trevor Chalobah could be allowed to leave on loan.
Chelsea seem to be picking up the pace as the transfer window heads towards the end of August. A deal for Romelu Lukaku is done, as reported by Sky Sports. But that might not signal the end of transfer business. Kounde is a name the Blues want to add to the side but will have to make certain adjustments to the squad before his arrival, especially in defence.
One of the players they want to move on but are struggling to do so is Kurt Zouma. There is the expectation that he could fetch £20-30m with West Ham showing some degree of interest. Although an earlier approach of theirs was said to be rebuffed. The Frenchman finds himself out of favour as Tuchel has used the other defenders in the side.
Another name they are hoping to move on, but only on a temporary basis, is Trevor Chalobah. The academy star has impressed on loan over the last few seasons at clubs like Lorient. He was handed a chance during the preseason and did not disappoint. However, Valencia have shown an interest in his services and Chelsea could sanction a loan.

Chelsea do have one too many defenders on the side and it makes sense that would want to get some names off their books before signing someone like Kounde. The youngster can be a good addition to the side but it is required that the Blues make some room in defence before they go for him.
