Report: 27-year-old forgotten Chelsea star close to agreeing a move to Italian giants

Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to complete his loan move to AC Milan from Chelsea soon

According to a video posted by journalist Antonio Vitiello (h/t football.london), Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to complete a loan move away from Chelsea this summer as he arrived in Milan earlier today to complete his medical.

The Frenchman has suffered for game-time at the West London club and could now be on his way to San Siro.

Bakayoko joined the Blues in 2017 under the stewardship of Antonio Conte, and the midfielder featured heavily for the club that year. He managed to rack up 43 appearances across all competitions and even managed 6 goal contributions in the process.

However, the Frenchman could not manage the same fate with new boss Maurizio Sarri in the following season and completed a loan move to AC Milan. The 27-year-old could not find favour under Frank Lampard either, and Bakayoko had to leave on loan again that year, this time to former club Monaco.

Bakayoko was then shipped out on a loan move again last season to Napoli and came back to Chelsea at the end of the season. Although he featured in pre-season for the Blues, he was left out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup final, as it seemed like Thomas Tuchel had his mind made up regarding the player’s future.

Tuchel has preferred Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, and Jorginho for a major part of his tenure, and it looks he will continue with the trio this season.

Bakayoko, on the other hand, will complete another loan deal this summer. A permanent exit would have been beneficial, but as long as the deadwood is moved out, it will help the club.
