According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea are looking to offload Michy Batshuayi for £10m. There is one unnamed Premier League club who are interested in signing the Belgian striker who will return to Chelsea after his loan spell at Crystal Palace.
It’s hard to believe that Batshuayi has been at the club for five years now. He was expected to play a big part at Chelsea after his exploits in Ligue 1. However, it has been anything but.
During his time at the club, he has hardly featured and has been regularly sent out on loan. Valencia, Dortmund and twice to Crystal Palace, Batshuyai has never looked close to his best after another underwhelming season at Selhurst Park.
Now, it has been reported that Chelsea are looking to offload him on a permanent deal. The Blues will look to recoup at least £10m for the striker amid interest from a top-half Premier League club. No formal approach has been made as of now.
In all honesty, Batchuayi has been a disappointing signing for the club. For the limited chances he received, he wasn’t able to show his prowess. He could not make it work in his loan spells either. While Chelsea are taking a loss at that price, it’s better to let him go rather than arrange more loan spells.
