Transfer News: Chelsea receive setback in Miralem Pjanic pursuit
According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea have received a setback in their chase for Miralem Pjanic. Pjanic has made it known that he is not keen on joining Chelsea despite the club wanting to do so.
The 31-year-old is a product of Metz’s youth academy. After a season with the French outfit’s senior set-up, he moved to Lyon. He stayed there for three years and established himself. The midfielder then moved to Roma before joining Juventus in the summer of 2016.
The Bosnian went on to become a world-class midfielder with the Italian champions, helping them win several trophies including three Serie A titles. He moved to Barcelona in a swap deal, with Arthur heading the other way. However, he has not enjoyed the same level of success there.
With the player not happy at the amount of game time he is receiving under Ronald Koeman, he is considering his options. A few English clubs like Chelsea have shown interest in the Bosnian. However, it has been reported that he does not want to move to Chelsea and prefers a move to Serie A.

The Blues wanted to bolster their midfield with Pjanic but now, they might have to sound out alternatives. In all honesty, Chelsea might be dodging a bullet with Pjanic. Bringing in a 31-year-old Pjanic who has not had the best of seasons hardly seems like a great idea in the first place.
