According to Football.london, Micah Richards was of the opinion that Erling Haaland can be the ‘icing on the cake’ for Chelsea.
Given how Chelsea have performed since Thomas Tuchel took over, the former Manchester City full-back was of the belief that Haaland’s addition would be a huge boost for them.
Chelsea are now 14 games unbeaten under Tuchel and their last win over Sheffield United meant that they have won 10 of those games while conceding just twice. Earlier last week, they also managed to topple Atletico Madrid to book a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Like many others, Micah Richards has been impressed with their performances and post the Sheffield United win, he was of the opinion that adding Erling Haaland to this talented side would make them even scarier.
“I think they’ve got absolutely everything. They’ve sorted out defensive problems, the only thing to add that little bit of icing on the cake would be a striker. They’ve got Werner in there, Havertz in there, it seems like they haven’t cracked that offensive aspect yet. If you put Haaland in this team, they’ll be scary next season.”
It has not even been two seasons but the Norwegian hitman has taken Europe by storm with his goal-scoring exploits. In 49 outings for Dortmund, he has scored 49 goals. Chelsea have been linked with the youngster in recent months and a summer move could be on the cards.
