Boost for Chelsea as transfer-linked superstar could be sold by European giants

Transfer NewS: Juventus are willing to sell Paulo Dybala as Chelsea remain keen for his signature

A report by Italian news outlet Quotidiano (h/t Express) claims that Juventus are willing to part ways with Chelsea target, Paulo Dybala, in a bid to raise funds for the transfer of Paul Pogba from Manchester United.

The Old Lady are interested in signing the French central midfielder from United. The club has failed to replace him since he departed Turin in 2016 and now want to take advantage of his situation at Old Trafford.

Pogba’s current contract expires in the summer of 2022 and the Red Devils are not willing to let him leave on a free transfer. This could prompt them to sell him in the summer in order to avoid losing him on a free in a year’s time.

And due to this, the Argentine forward is ‘likely’ to be sold by the club to raise much-needed transfer funds for Juve. Chelsea’s interest in the 27-year-old comes as they look for a cheaper alternative to Erling Haaland.

A cheaper alternative

The Blues are tipped to face competition from cross-city rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs were interested in signing the forward back in 2019, but an issue with his image rights stalled any move.

Tottenham Hotspur are also looking at Paulo Dybala.

Dybala has been linked with a move away from the Serie A giants for a while now. And his situation at the club has not improved as he has failed to cement his place in the side this season.

Injuries have reduced him to just 8 league starts and 2 UEFA Champions League starts over the course of the campaign.
