Transfer News: Chelsea receive blow in pursuit of Achraf Hakimi
According to transfer news from Metro, Chelsea have received a blow in their pursuit for Achraf Hakimi. The Inter Milan starlet’s agent spoke out on his future and pretty much quashed any notion that Hakimi could exit the club. Arsenal and Chelsea were the two sides interested in him.
Hakimi could be available to both these clubs easily as Inter’s owners are in a financial mess. They stopped their operations at their Chinese clubs, which in turn put the future of Inter up in the air.
While the owners have reiterated their financial support and commitment to the club, they could be forced to sell some of their assets and Hakimi could be one of them.
However, his agent spoke out on his future and said that his client is happy at the club.
“Hakimi is happy at Inter with Conte, who is an excellent coach. Conte’s style of play suits Achraf and I think he will end up improving a lot because of this experience with the Nerazzurri.”
With Thomas Tuchel at the helm now, there has been a tactical rejig at Chelsea. He has switched to a back three and wing-backs were reintroduced. While Marcos Alonso has looked good at left wing-back, the same cannot be said about the right.

Reece James is a full-back while Callum Hudson-Odoi has been shoehorned into that role. Signing a natural fit like Hakimi would serve the club well.
He fits the role perfectly and he is prolific as well, representing an upgrade on the options already present at the club. That is why Tuchel is keen on Hakimi. It remains to be seen if Chelsea can persuade the Moroccan to join the club in the future.
