Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher praises Andreas Christensen after Chelsea win
According to Football.london, Jamie Carragher thinks Andreas Christensen was the best player for Chelsea against Liverpool. It was a tidy performance from Chelsea as they created better chances, scored one and dealt with Liverpool’s attack rather smartly.
This win means that Chelsea are back into the top-four and takes their unbeaten run to 10 games under Thomas Tuchel. Anfield just saw that one goal from Mason Mount wish was befitting of being the winner for his side.
While a lot of players performed well and some stood out more than others, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has named a different player he deems played the best.
“It wasn’t so much the defending, really, it was more Christensen, I felt he was taking the ball, they were playing out from the back and being really brave against one of the best pressing teams we know.
“I thought he was really brave in taking that responsibility and also, every time Liverpool attacked and put a cross in, I felt he got his head on the end of it. There was a couple of times he was in a race with Mane and came out on top, so that just pushed me towards Christensen (man of the match).”
Christensen was thrown a new lease of life under Thomas Tuchel when Thiago Silva got injured in the Spurs game. Since then the Danish defender has slotted in the middle of the three-man defence and looked very solid.
