“A gift”: Tuchel full of praise for this Chelsea star win over Liverpool

Thomas Tuchel praises N’Golo Kante after Chelsea beat Liverpool

According to RMC Sport (h/t Metro), Thomas Tuchel has come out all praises for N’Golo Kante after Chelsea beat Liverpool. A 42nd-minute strike from Mason Mount proved to be the goal that separated the sides at Anfield in a crucial six-pointer.

While Mount did the damage in Liverpool’s half, it was a certain N’Golo Kante who kept things clean at the other end. His performance absolutely nulled the Liverpool side and any effort they tried to make on goal. Tuchel was particularly impressed with the diminutive Frenchman.

“He [Kante] is a gift. It’s incredible. I’ve never seen anything like this. At training, in games, he never stops. We look at the data on his intensity and he is incredible. He really is a gift.”

Kante was inspirational at Anfield as he kept the troika of Liverpool’s forward’s quiet while snuffing out any threat from their midfielders by intercepting their moves. It was not all defence from Kante though.

His probing lofted ball from his own half found Mason Mount who did the rest by latching on to the ball and running past the defence to slot it into the button corner. It was surely a top-notch and all-round display from the midfielder.

The win takes Chelsea up to fourth place and within 4 points of second-placed Manchester United. There are still tough tests awaiting in the form of Everton, Leeds and Atletico Madrid. But given the form Chelsea have produced under Tuchel, one wouldn’t be wise to bet against the Blues.
