Blackburn Rovers, Reading eyeing January loan move for Izzy Brown
According to The Sun (h/t Football.london), Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown has emerged as a January loan target for EFL Championship sides Blackburn Rovers and Reading.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is currently on loan at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday. However, he hasn’t made the desired impact at Hillsborough, which has meant that he has been restricted to minutes off the bench.
Indeed, out of his 14 league games this term, only three of them have been from the start. This had led to reports that Chelsea are looking to terminate the deal with the Owls and loan him out to a different club this month.
And now, it is being claimed that both Blackburn Rovers and Reading have registered an interest in taking the 23-year-old on a temporary deal for the rest of the season.
Brown has been with Chelsea since 2013, having switched from the West Bromwich Albion youth academy. However, he has never been able to make the step up to the first-team at the Bridge, making just one senior apperance.
Instead, he has spent the majority of his career out on loan with the likes of Vitesse Arnhem, Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United and Luton Town. He joined Sheffield Wednesday last summer on loan with an option to buy.
