Chelsea line up Erling Braut Haaland ahead of 2021 summer transfer window
According to Sky Sports Journalist Angelo Mangiante (h/t The Sun), Chelsea have thrown their name into the hat for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland.
The 20-year-old is one of Europe’s best marksmen and has taken his game up a notch at Borussia Dortmund. So far, Haaland has an impressive 33 goals in 32 games for the Bundesliga giants. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Securing the Norwegian will not however be easy, with a myriad of Europe’stop clubs seeking his services.
One of the continent’s most sought-after players, the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are all keeping tabs on the player. (h/t The Express)
Chelsea went big by securing Timo Werner in the summer. Despite impressing, the German has failed to translate performances into goals.
Bringing in another striker could see Werner pushed out to the left. While he is competent on the wing, it comes at the cost of his prolific nature showcased when played up front. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A familiar face
Chelsea also have their eyes on bringing Declan Rice back to the Bridge. The midfielder is also keen on a reunion and could prove easier to obtain compared to Haaland. (h/t The Sun)
Blues boss Frank Lampard will however have to reduce his squad in order to incorporate the potential newcomers. According to the report, up to seven players could be axed by the club in the coming windows.
