Thiago Silva keen to write his name into Chelsea history books
According to the club’s official website, Chelsea star, Thiago Silva is keen to etch his name into the club’s history books.
The 36-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer on a free transfer. Previously at Paris Saint-Germain, he led the French champions to the Champions League final where they lost to Bayern Munich.
Despite losing out, Silva rolled back the years to mark Bayern ace Robert Lewandowski out of the game. No mean feat considering the Polish supestar’s ability.
His arrival at Chelsea has coincided with a change in fortunes for a previously maligned defence.
The Blues have developed as a defensive unit with Silva at the heart of it. A serial trophy winner throughout his career, the Brazilian is keen to do the same at Chelsea.
“I try to leave a mark wherever I go.”
The Brazilian ace spoke of his determination not to let people who put faith in him. He is keen to cut out on mistakes and help his team achieve glory.
“I aim to work hard and focus a lot on my opponents so that I can make as few mistakes as possible in games to help me and the team perform really well.”
Chelsea’s history combined with the quality in our squad were major reasons for the player’s decision to move to Stamford Bridge. It is fair to say that the deal has so far worked out well for all parties.
“The choice to join Chelsea wasn’t hard.”

Silva was not one of our big money signings in what was an expensive summer of recruitment. However, it can be argued that he has been the most effective.
Despite his advanced age, his ability to read the game and organize his defence has given us a keen adge that we lacked last season. Hopefully this will see us add to our trophy collecvtion sooner rather than later.
