Chelsea boss Frank Lampard refuses to give anything away regarding January transfers
According to Football.london, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has refused to be drawn into discussing the club’s January transfer plans.
The Blues enjoyed a brilliant summer where they brought in a number of first-team stars. With the club firmly in the title race, whether they will further strengthen the team in January is to be seen.
“I don’t know about January.”
Lampard is keen to address the festive schedule in front of him rather than worry about the January window.
The Blues play four games in the next 16 days, all of them in the Premier League. Having lost our last two games, it is good to see Lampard not lose track of the present to focus on the future.
This does not mean that the manager does not have an eye on the window. He has revealed he will deal with it once the new year arrives.
“I’ll consider January when it is here. So I’ve got the squad and we’re working hard on the games that are in front of us.”
Lampard also went on to profess confidence in under-fire star Timo Werner. One of our big-money summer signings, the German has failed to score in his last eight games.
“He needs to remain confident, he needs to keep getting in the areas and those goals will come without a doubt.”
The Blues boss has asked his striker to keep doing his best. With the clash against West Ham United coming up, Werner will have an opportunity to end his drought soon.
