Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte keen on Chelsea trio in January
According to Football Italia (h/t Daily Mail), Inter Milan are keen on securing three Chelsea stars in the upcoming January transfer window.
Now managed by former Blues boss Antonio Conte, the Nerazzurri have been linked with a number of our players in the past.
Having managed at Stamford Bridge, Conte is well aware of the player’s capabilities. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has expressed his desire to sign at least two new players, giving Conte the leeway to make his move.
In demand at the San Siro are three of our fringe players. The trio includes Olivier Giroud, Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso.
All three are not key players in our squad. While they can be decent backups, losing any of them would not be a huge miss to us.
Inter are keen to add a new striker and a full-back. Giroud, despite his age, remains a dependable forward while both Alonso and Emerson are decent full-backs.
Time to move on?
It is not the first time that Giroud has been linked to Inter. He was keen to move to the Serie A giants in January. He stayed put and went on to play a key role in our fortunes post lockdown.
With ace striker Romelu Lukaku out injured, Conte wants the Frenchman to be brought in as a backup.
Ben Chilwell is our first-choice left-back at the moment. Emerson and Alonso are at best backups. It would not be in our best interests to see both of them leave in the same window. That is unless we bring in cover for Chilwell.
If we would hazard a guess, it would be Alonso who could be on the move. All the more so since he hasn’t featured since his falling out with Frank Lampard.

Inter are also keen on Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante. The Frenchman however is also seen as an unattainable target given his importance to the Blues.
Lampard also had a recent chat with the midfielder, reassuring him of his important role in the Chelsea squad.
