Frank Lampard set to recall Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger
Chelsea outcast Antonio Rudiger could yet have a future at the club.
The German international is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Blues this season. In fact, the closest he has got to take the pitch was as a substitute in Premier League games against Brighton and Manchester United.
Rudiger was not brought on in either game and he has failed to make the matchday squad for the Blues on every other occasion so far.
The 27-year-old was seen as expendable and was expected to leave the club on loan in January. He would not have been short of suitors, with both PSG and Tottenham Hotspur touted as potential destinations.
According to Daily Mail, the player has since had a heart to heart conversation with manager Frank Lampard.
The Blues boss is now ready to re-integrate one of our seniormost players back into the first-team.
The signings of Edouard Mendy, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell have seen a marked improvement in our defensive acumen in recent matches. With a veteran such as Rudiger returning, the rearguard can only get stronger.
He was named as a substitute in our last match against United. Though unused, it was the first time he made the cut since the season opener at the Amex.
Rudiger is now expected to play a more prominent role in the coming weeks. According to the report, there has been no tension between him and Lampard.

The German ace is expected to keep his spot for our trip to Krasnodar. Although he has not played for Chelsea, Rudiger has made five appearances for Germany this season.
This should ensure he has some semblance of match fitness and is ready to be called upon.
It is heartening to see Lampard bring back the defender. As a club, we must make use of every resource at our disposal for the greater good.
