PL manager reveals no offers made for £65m-rated key Chelsea target

David Moyes no offers have been received for Declan Rice amidst Chelsea interest

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to bring back former academy prospect Declan Rice to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues defence has had more holes than a sinking boat prompting Frank Lampard to strengthen it this summer. Likened to John Terry, the Hammers’ star is seen as the ideal man to help bring about a transformation.

However, as reported by the Evening Standard, West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that no bid has been made for the talented 21-year-old.

Despite the Hammers securing their Premier League future, speculation regarding their star player refuses to die down. Moyes is keen to ensure Rice stays put at the London Stadium. (h/t Evening Standard)

“At the moment there have been no offers for Declan and we don’t want any. There’s always interest but we don’t want to encourage it.”

Released by Chelsea as a 14-year-old, Rice has thrived after making the move to West Ham. A defensive midfielder, who can also play as a centre-back, he is one of England’s most promising talents.

A commanding defender, Rice brings excellent leadership and encourages communication at the back. Qualities that the Blues desperately require.

According to the Daily Mail, he will cost around £65m. A fee the Blues are keen to offset at least in part by parting ways with Jorginho.

The Italian has been linked with a move to Juventus. Although his agent denied there has been any contact, he has left the door open for a potential move.

Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. The club’s activity is far from done, however.

Lampard is set to have a stronger squad at his disposal next season. Whether Rice will be among it remains to be seen.
