Kai Havertz interested in joining Chelsea this summer

Speaking to TalkChelsea (h/t Express), Bleacher Report’s journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is very much interested in signing for Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old Havertz has emerged as a top transfer target for Chelsea heading into the summer after a sensational season in Germany.

An excellent post-restart form saw Havertz notch up 17 goals and 9 assists from 43 games in all competitions this season. He could add to that tally once the Europa League resumes next month, provided he stays at the club.

And now, Jones has claimed that the versatile attacking midfielder is intent on making the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer. (h/t Express)

“He is interested, very interested actually. He really wants to push himself and Leverkusen are pretty surprised at how focused he is on finding a new club.”

This comes after a report which claimed that Havertz had already informed Leverkusen of his desires of making the switch to Chelsea.

However, the journalist does add that Champions League football is something that the German international desperately wants, which could end up impacting his final decision. (h/t Express)

As things stand, we are well-placed to finish within the top four in the Premier League. Currently third in the table, we are a point ahead of Leicester City in fourth and two above Manchester United in fifth.

However, our remaining matches are against champions Liverpool and fellow top four hopefuls Wolves, which does make the situation a bit tricky. The race for the top four could very well go into the final day of the season.
