Frank Lampard is keen on signing Dean Henderson
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are keen on signing Dean Henderson to solve their goalkeeping conundrum.
In spite of spending a world-record fee on Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Spaniard has failed to impress Frank Lampard and has recently been relegated to the bench in favour of Willy Cabellero.
Henderson, on the other hand, is enjoying a stellar season in the top-flight and is one of the league’s best in his position.
The 22-year-old has been a key member of the Sheffield United defence that is second only to runaway leaders Liverpool. Currently on loan from Manchester United, there is some uncertainty about where his future lies.
David de Gea is the undisputed No.1 at Old Trafford and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has supported his Spanish custodian in spite of him making a few errors this season.
According to the report, Frank Lampard is keen to make a move for the youngster if the chance arises. Henderson has two years left on his contract and is valued at £25million.
Although Lampard has insisted that he will take a call on his goalkeeping problem in the summer, Kepa’s time at Stamford Bridge looks numbered. The Blues will face competition from the Blades who are keen on extending the youngster’s stay at Bramall lane by a further 12 months.

Henderson has made 30 appearances for Sheffield this season. He has conceded just 24 goals, while notching up an impressive 11 clean sheets.
A regular at the youth level, the youngster is expected to receive his first senior call-up for England soon.
