Chelsea are interested in signing Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, according to the Express.
The report claims that Maurizio Sarri wants to add more firepower to the Blues with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling this season.
Vardy has scored seven goals so far in the Premier League and is one of the options that the Blues are looking at.
The report adds that Gonzalo Higuain, Callum Wilson and Mauro Icardi are also being eyed by the Blues.
Morata’s future at the club is up in the air as the report claims Chelsea will allow the Spaniard to leave if a suitable replacement can be signed.
Sarri has shuffled his pack around due to the injuries to Giroud and Morata by playing Eden Hazard as the striker in recent games.
However, Vardy could be an excellent signing given his finishing and pace. The 29-year-old won’t be the youngest striker we might buy but he knows the Premier League well and has a decent record of scoring.
The Englishman also has an edge to his game, and he could be the firebrand we need at the tip of the attack, similar to Diego Costa.
Chelsea need to splash the cash in this window to secure a top-four place, at least. We sit three points ahead of Arsenal and a further three ahead of Manchester United.
The Blues spent big on Christian Pulisic but he will join us in the summer, and it will be interesting to see which striker does join us before the end of this window.
