Marca (h/t Mirror) claims that Chelsea are close to completing a deal for Gonzalo Higuain, and the signing will be confirmed soon.

The Argentine joined AC Milan on loan at the start of the season after a great spell with Juventus. The 31-year-old played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli, but has struggled to find his form for the Milan giants this season.

The report adds that the Argentine coming in could mean the end of Alvaro Morata at the Blues. Sarri is keen to reunite with his former striker, as per the report, and Higuain could be the answer to our goal scoring problems.

The Chelsea manager knows the player well from their time at Napoli, and it will be interesting to see how the Argentine fits into our style of play.

The Argentine is a poacher and has scored goals for almost every club he has played for. The only risk regarding this deal would be related to the player’s age.

At 31, the striker isn’t someone who can be part of the Chelsea side for several years, and his mobility will be a huge question mark in the more physical Premier League.

Several Chelsea fans reacted to this possible deal taking place, and not all of them were happy with the move.
