Fikayo Tomori: AC Milan confirm intention to sign Chelsea ace permanently
Speaking to Gazetta dello Sport (h/t Goal.com), AC Milan honorary vice-president Franco Baresi has confirmed that the club intends to sign Fikayo Tomori permanently from Chelsea.
The 23-year-old Tomori is a product of the Chelsea youth academy. After loan spells away at Hull City and Derby County, the centre-back got his first-team breakthrough at the Bridge in the last season.
Having been a regular in the early parts of the season, Tomori slipped down the pecking order in the second half. And following the arrival of Thiago Silva last summer, his game-time took further hit. As a result, the England international left for AC Milan in January earlier this year.
Since moving to Lombardy, the 23-year-old has thrived establishing himself as a permanent fixture at the heart of the Rossoneri defence. And now, Milan legend and vice-president, Baresi has confirmed that the club will do everything in their power to sign Tomori permanently.
“We’ll do everything to sign him on a permanent deal. Two months are remaining until the end of the season, and it’s not only up to Milan.
“Tomori is imposing himself with talent and determination. He has shown no fear to play in a new league. Potentially, he can become a great champion. I hope he lives up to expectations.”

AC Milan have the option of making the transfer of Tomori permanent by paying Chelsea a fee of £26million. However, they are holding discussions to try and lower that transfer fee for the Englishman. As things stand, it looks like Tomori could be on his way out of Chelsea on a permanent basis.
