Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has blasted new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri as he claims that the Blues manager is trying to sign all the players from the Serie A side.
Sarri was on the books at Napoli before joining us but bringing him to the Premier League was made especially tough as Laurentiis had already brought in Carlo Ancelotti to manage the Serie A side but was not releasing Sarri without a fight.
Our new manager was quoted by Football.london as saying that if things did not end up well between the parties, then mistakes were made on both sides. Sarri also added:
“Maybe the president misinterpreted some silences of mine, but this was the result of some uncertainties. For someone who thought it was time to go, but I was heartbroken. That is it. I think that over the next few years we will overcome this.”
However, Laurentiis was quoted by Sky Sports Italia (h/t Football.london) as saying:
“[Sarri] wanted to take my whole team to England.
“He wanted Jorginho and I gave him away after I talked to Ancelotti, who told me he was banking a lot on [Amadou] Diawara and that he wanted to play [Marek] Hamsik deeper.”
Laurentiis also added that he did not like the “mistakes” comment from Sarri and he did not believe any mistakes were made on his end.
“I wasn’t wrong not to challenge him even if it would have been most obvious thing.”

Laurentiis is known to be a bit of a hot-head and it should come as no surprise that he is going after Sarri. The Italian manager too would have known the kind of character Laurentiis is and hopefully, we can put all this in the past and move ahead to a new era at Stamford Bridge.
