"It will rain goals soon" - Senegal legend's message to Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson after DR Congo outing

Former star El Hadji Diouf comments on Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson Instagram post after draw with DR Congo

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson was on national duty as his side settled for a 1-1 draw against DR Conor during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. However, Chelsea striker Jackson had a glorious chance but missed the one-on-one against the goalkeeper.

Despite the game ending in a draw, Jackson posted on Instagram with a heart emoji, and the former Senegal striker El Hadji Diouf commented on the Blues centre-forward post with ‘’ It will rain goals soon.’’

Diouf is one of the former Senegal strikers who scored 16 goals and made 43 appearances for them throughout his career. He played eight years for them and was the runner-up in the 2002 African Cup of Nations. Senegal has produced many elite centre-forwards, one of them is now Sadio Mane, while Jackson has been dubbed as the future striker of Senegal.

The Senegalese signed for Chelsea last summer, and despite a poor start to the season, the centre-forward didn’t fail to show his quality and completed the season with 14 Premier League goals. He will now hope to take his national team to the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will take place in the USA and Canada.

Jackson, who is only 22 years old, already proved last season that he has what it takes to be among the top attackers for both his team and his nation. His one and only infirmity is finishing, which is among the striker’s most frustrating flaws.

Nicolas Jackson needs to hone his finishing touch next season.

Against Congo, he had a chance to score a goal, but he fluffed his chances against the goalie. Once he refines his finishing, we will see him elevate his team’s performance beyond his own game. He can also surpass many former national team goal tallies, given that Diouf hasn’t scored many goals during his prolonged time in Senegal.

Diouf knows the exceptional player Jackson is, and his comment suggests that he will soon distinguish himself as one of the game’s most potent strikers. All we need to do is be patient and support him so that he may develop into the centre forward we have envisioned for the future.
