There is no doubt that Chelsea has struggled through another rough season, but they had a bright star, Cole Palmer, who carried them through there downfalls and led the team to a decent position towards the season’s end. The 22-year-old has just picked up the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award, thanks to his consistent showcase of talent.
Any optimistic Chelsea fan hoping for Mauricio Pochettino to quickly turn things around this season would have been bitterly disappointed. The Blues are frequently taking one stride forward and two steps back, failing to fully recover from the lethargy that dogged them during the previous season.
Although they were hanging in the mid-table section for most of the campaign, after winning five games consecutively, they managed to end up in sixth place in Premier League standings, reviving their hopes of European qualification.

The resilient midfielder has persevered after a poor start to establish himself as a vital member of Pochettino’s team, and he appears to be improving every week.
