Chelsea not favorites despite strong interest in Franco Mastantuono

Chelsea are looking to acquire another highly acclaimed talent in South America as they express interest in sixteen-year-old midfielder Franco Mastantuono.

Franco Mastantuono fits into Chelsea’s transfer policy off late, where they intend to sign high-quality youngsters with high ceilings and try to nurture them into highly acclaimed players. They have created an environment where youngsters are preferred, thrown into the distance, and given an opportunity to grow.

Chelsea, Real Madrid vie for Franco Mastantuono

He is currently employed by Argentine giants River Plate and has been widely regarded as one of the best players coming out of the country. His reputation has led to interest from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have already been linked with a move for Mastantuono and will be competing with arch rivals Barcelona for his services. However, a recent report in Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing acknowledged that Chelsea have been added to the list of European elites chasing the 16-year-old’s services.

The report insists that the Blues have already inquired about the possibility of signing Franco Mastantuono in the summer transfer window.

However, Chelsea, Manchester City, and PSG have also been named as the latest sides chasing the Argentine midfielder.

However, what comes as a major boost for the Los Blanos is that despite Chelsea’s interests, Franco Mastantuono continues to prefer a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

For Chelsea, this would not be the first time they aren’t the favorites to acquire a top taker, and they have pulled deals out of thin air before. The Boues fans would be hoping for something similar from the officials at Stamford Bridge yet again.
