Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson pulls out of Senegal squad and is set to undergo an operation on his wrist
As per the Mirror, Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has been withdrawn from the Senegal squad and was replaced by Rangers’ Abdallah Sima for October international matches as he is set to undergo a minor operation on his wrist ahead of the game against Arsenal this month. Jackson has remained in London to undergo an operation.
The youngster has seen himself wearing a splint in his last two matches after feeling discomfort in that area following a 1-0 win over the Carabao Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion. However, it is just a minor issue, and he should be available to face Arsenal on October 21st after the international break.
Chelsea are looking to secure their third straight win under Mauricio Pochettino in the league after a patchy start to the season. Hopefully we can keep the good run going and rise up the standings in the coming months.
Jackson, who was signed from Villarreal in the last summer window, seems to have found his confidence in front of the goal after scoring in two consecutive games. It is good news for a side that lacks an infallible goal scorer.
The Senegalese striker has scored three goals so far in all competitions and is slowly yet steadily becoming a reliable forward for the Blues. He will be eager to preserve his scoring shoes when he returns to club duty against the Gunners.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are riding high after two impressive road victories in a row. This is huge for their confidence given that they will next face Arsenal, who is second in the Premier League standings. Beating Mikel Arteta’s men will not just dent their title charge but also give Chelsea a massive boost in confidence.
Nicolas Jackson’s availability to play against Arsenal is welcome news, as Chelsea will rely on him to score goals given that Armando Broja has just returned from a serious injury and will need some time to settle in. Until then, the 22-year-old has an abundance of responsibility, and he will prove crucial against Arsenal given Chelsea’s goal-scoring struggles. Jackson is turning out to be a valuable player for us, and his athleticism offers us a pressing advantage.

We are beginning to gel as a team under Pochettino, and goals are starting to flow after we scored four goals in a game for the first time in a long time. Hopefully this trend continues in the next few games so we can put an end to our goal-scoring struggles.
