Eden Hazard “likes” the kind of football being played under Maurizio Sarri after the Belgian scored in our 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
The former Lille attacker scored two in two games for the Blues and was speaking to Chelsea TV (h/t Sky Sports):
“I like to have the ball. Not in my own half, but in the last 30 metres.
“I like this type of game. It’s completely different than Antonio Conte or (Jose) Mourinho before.
“We have more ball so for me, it’s not bad.”
The report from Sky Sports claims that Real Madrid were linked with a move for Hazard. The 27-year-old is contracted till 2020 at the club but is yet to sign an extension to stay at London.
The Belgian further spoke about a change in our style of play but claimed that two new signings have been the difference for the side.
“It’s not so different (from the past). The big difference is we bring two players – Jorginho and (Mateo) Kovacic – and they are completely different.
“We just try to keep the ball more often and then when we have a chance to score, we need to score.
“But when we have more ball we can be more dangerous.
“We’re playing good football, so we enjoy. I want to keep this momentum.”
Chelsea have won all their games prior to the international break and Sarri could not have hoped for a better start to the season.
The Blues are yet to hit top gear and can only get better in the coming months, with an energized Hazard leading the attack.
