Yacine Brahimi has been in impressive form for the last two seasons for FC Porto and has caught the eyes of European heavyweights. Chelsea are interested and so are Liverpool, but the Blues are said to be ahead in the race over the Reds.
He has scored 21 goals since joining Porto and has a release clause of £45 million in his contract. In spite of the large release clause clubs like Wolfsburg and AC Milan are also said to be interested in the player. While O Jogo, a Portuguese newspaper, has reported that the club wants £23.5m for Brahimi, things may be a little more complicated than that as the player’s rights are also owned by Doyen Sports.
Any deal with third party ownership can be extremely tricky and has the possibility of escalating quickly as seen during the transfer of Mascherano and Tevez earlier. Chelsea are leading the race for the player and may land the 26 year old. The transfer fee is something we will have to wait and watch.
