Chelsea star to push for Stamford Bridge exit; Manchester United keen

published :

Chelsea striker Christophe Nkunku recently opened up on his rumored transfer move to his boyhood club PSG.

Chelsea appear to be rediscovering their form under Enzo Maresca, aiming for a top-four finish as they currently sit third in the Premier League after 11 matchdays. Following three challenging seasons, the Blues finally seem to have regained their identity. However, amidst this resurgence, reports from Football Insider suggest that Christopher Nkunku may seek an exit from Stamford Bridge due to dissatisfaction over his lack of game time.

The 27-year-old, who expected to be a consistent starter, has managed just one Premier League start this season, fuelling speculation about his future.

Christopher Nkunku, despite making 17 appearances across all competitions, has averaged just 40 minutes per game and completed the full 90 minutes only twice. Frustrated with his limited role, the forward is reportedly prepared to demand more playing time under Enzo Maresca or seek a transfer to a club that guarantees him a starting position.

Nkunku could push for Chelsea exit amid Man United interest

According to Football Insider, Nkunku is open to a move to Manchester United, with the Red Devils expressing growing interest in the Chelsea star. While his current contract at Stamford Bridge runs until June 2029, making a transfer complex, sources suggest the demand for his services is steadily increasing.

Since making the high-profile switch from RB Leipzig to Stamford Bridge last season, Christopher Nkunku has struggled to replicate his Bundesliga form due to injuries. The Frenchman arrived with lofty expectations following his big-money transfer and a hefty £195,000 gross weekly wage, but he has found it difficult to cement a first-team spot under Enzo Maresca, largely due to Chelsea’s bloated squad.

Despite his limited opportunities, Nkunku has delivered an impressive ten goals and one assist in 17 appearances across all competitions, raising questions about why he hasn’t earned more trust or game time. His role as an important squad player keeps him close to first-team action, with just one injury away from stepping in, especially with Nicolas Jackson’s strong early-season performances blocking his path.

However, the constant squad rotation, particularly in different competitions, has prevented Nkunku from securing a consistent starting role. Instead, he has often been relegated to cup competitions, leaving him without the rhythm needed to thrive at Stamford Bridge.

This situation has reportedly frustrated Nkunku, who could push for a transfer if clubs express interest in signing him during the January window. Should the Frenchman demand an exit, Chelsea may find themselves in a difficult position.
