Report: Serie A club now make official bid to sign Chelsea superstar

Chelsea are keen on signing a new striker to the club in the summer. The West London club has already completed the signing of young Spanish striker Marc Guiu from Barcelona in the summer. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has included the teenage striker in Chelsea’s pre-season squad, and Guiu impressed Maresca with his pre-season stint for Chelsea.

French forward Christopher Nkunku has also made an impact on the squad by scoring multiple goals in the pre-season games for the Blues. He missed a major part of the last season due to injury and has only appeared in 14 games for the club in the last campaign.

The Italian gaffer may include Nkunku and Guiu as key players in his squad for Chelsea in the new season. Despite including Armando Broja in the pre-season squad, the Albanian striker failed to impress the manager with his performance. The young striker was also loaned out to Fulham last season due to underwhelming performance. Broja has been linked with multiple clubs in the ongoing transfer window, and he may leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

West London has to offload some players from the squad to create vacant spaces for the new signings. The club is accepting bids for front-line players like Romelu Lukaku, Broja and David Fofana in the summer.

Napoli for Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku to leave Chelsea in the summer

Italian giants Napoli has made an official bid worth £25m plus £5m in add-ons for Lukaku. The player has already agreed to the personal terms with the Italian side. The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move back to Serie A after spending the last two seasons on loan at Inter Milan and Roma, per Metro.

Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, would not have any intentions to include the Belgian international in his new plan for Chelsea. The West London club is expecting £35m for his service, as the player has two years left in his contract (Transfermarkt) with the Blues.

Chelsea may be more likely to reject the bid as it falls below the club’s expected price. Napoli manager Antonio Conte is heavily interested in the player and the Italian club would likely relaunch an improved bid. The West London club also needs to sell the player quickly to strengthen their squad, and they will expect a better bid for the experienced striker.
