London club looking to take outcast out of Chelsea's hands this summer

Of the many players tipped to leave Chelsea this summer, academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah is one of them.

Having been left out of his side’s recent pre-season tour of the US, the 25-year-old was given a clear indication in terms of what the club wanted him to do.

Thankfully for the former England U21 international, he has plenty of suitors vying for his signature in the Premier League, and a new name has entered the fray.

West Ham enter the race to sign Trevoh Chalobah

As reported by The Telegraph, West Ham could turn to Travoh Chalobah to sort out their recent defensive quandary.

West Ham’s French defender Kurt Zouma, another Chelsea graduate, is on his way to the UAE, prompting the Hammers to look for a replacement.

Julen Lopetegui’s side are eyeing a move for Aston Villa’s veteran Brazilian defender Diego Carlos but face competition from Fulham, and so they could turn their attention to Chalobah.

They won’t get a free shot at landing the Englishman’s however, as he is also being targeted by Crystal Palace to replace the Newcastle-bound Marc Guéhi, also a Chelsea graduate.

Chelsea want a fee in the region of £25 million for Chalobah, whose £50k-per-week contract runs until June 2028.

Chalobah's Premier League record: 58 games, 4 goals, 1 assist, 15 clean sheets.

Both Palace and West Ham good potential destinations for Chalobah

West Ham’s interest is good news for both Chelsea and Chalobah.

Having more than one club vying for a player they don’t want will see Chelsea get closer to, and possibly even more than, the £25 million they are looking for.

As for Chalobah, both clubs being in London would further ease his transition into a new environment. Also, both these sides are looking promising ahead of next season, meaning Chalobah’s stock is likely to only rise this term.
