Juventus enquire about £17m per year Chelsea superstar as outgoing man’s replacement

Juventus looking into Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling’s signing

Juventus are going to part ways with Federico Chiesa this summer and in their bid to replace the Italian international, they are planning to test the waters with Chelsea for Raheem Sterling’s purchase this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri have already asked for more information about the winger with Chelsea previously understood to be willing to let go of Sterling. The Blues may be even more determined to get rid of the Englishman following Pedro Neto’s arrival, and Juve are exploring his capture.

The Old Lady has also shown an interest in acquiring Francisco Conceicao, Jadon Sancho and Nico Gonzalez. Their preference is to sign their target on an initial loan, a prospect which neither Chelsea or Sterling would be very welcoming of.

Sterling has previously turned down interest from Saudi Arabia as he is determined to succeed at Stamford Bridge, whereas the Pensioners could also entertain thoughts of permanently selling him as doing so would help them balance their books more favourably.

Sterling would be a fantastic signing for Juventus. However, the Serie A giants may not be able to afford his wages amounting to a staggering £16.9 million annually.

On the other hand, it could come in handy for Chelsea to count on the former Manchester City star as he is one of their more experienced players and could prove to be a leader in the dressing room, as well as their go-to man in the difficult patches of the season.

And while admittedly he misfired last season in front of goal, that was the story of majority of the Chelsea players barring Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer. He has even played over 45 minutes in each of the team’s pre-season friendlies over the course of the summer, which could be an indicator of the forward’s inclusion in Enzo Maresca’s plans for 2024/25.

While Juve’s interest could appeal to the Chelsea board, their intention of signing him on loan will not do justice to either the club or the player and as a result, it looks likely that he will be staying until at least a better offer comes up.
