Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei is linked with multiple clubs for a loan move
Italian club Fiorentina is interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei in a loan deal. The youngster has been excluded from the pre-season squad by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca and is linked with multiple clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian U21 international joined the West London club in 2022 following his stint with his boyhood club Inter Milan. The young midfielder has been loaned out to different clubs in the initial years, finally making his debut for Chelsea last campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.
Despite playing 11 games for the Blues, Casadei failed to make a significant impact and was subsequently loaned out to Championship club Leicester City. He scored three goals and provided two assists in 25 games across all competitions for the Foxes, helping them win the Championship title under current Chelsea coach Maresca.
Casadei has a contract with Chelsea until 2028, and multiple clubs, including Fiorentina, have shown concrete interest in signing him this summer. Romano confirmed that the Italian club is set to advance talks for the player in the upcoming week.
Chelsea to loan out Casadei
Chelsea are clear with their plans, having excluded all potential exits from the pre-season squad to expedite the process. The West London club is set to offload several familiar faces this summer as part of bolstering the squad.
The club is also preparing to loan out players this summer to gain financial stability and develop the players. Casadei spent the second part of last season with Maresca, who is familiar with his strengths and weaknesses. Maresca has made it clear that the 21-year-old is not included in his current plans, preferring a loan move to help Casadei improve his game.
