A View From The Bridge

Opinion: Chelsea finally thinking along the right lines with pursuit of Manchester City star

Alvarez on the move? Chelsea eye City star

Chelsea have been pursuing a move for Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez as they look to add firepower along the offensive line at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been in the ongoing transfer market to acquire a marquee forward who can not only provide consistent output but also ooze quality going into the final third.

They have now expressed interest in signing Argentine ace Julian Alvarez, who has been taking strides to greatness at Etihad Stadium despite being in Erling Haaland’s shadow. The Blues are closely following the player and are ready to make an offer for his services, per HITC

A significant stride forward at the Bridge

Despite Chelsea’s interest, Manchester City are not willing to let go of the World Cup winner. The Cityzens are ready to sit down with the player’s representatives to discuss new terms amid Blues compound interest.

Pursuing a move for Alvarez is a significant step forward for Chelsea in certain terms. They have been relishing a go at some of the most highly rated young potential prospects around the globe, although it doesn’t add to the first team ceiling right away, and it sets up a frustrating camp going into the new season.

However, Enzo Maresca is set to pursue signings who can not only improve the ceiling of his squad but also understand the technical depth of his playing style on the pitch.

Julian Alvarez and the officials at Cobham are setting the right precedent for further potential additions. They are finally looking to climb the Premier League ladder going into next season, which would be a massive step of relief for many Blues fans around the globe.

In Alvarez, they will get someone who has shown potential and made promises upfront. Someone who deserves crazy money because of the performances he has put in over the years, in South America and Europe.

Alvarez recently won the Copa America title with Argentina, scoring twice in five appearances in national colors.

We will see if Chelsea can agree on common terms with Manchester City, irrespective of whether they can. The pursuit of Alvarez suggests that Chelsea are finally paddling the right way.
