Chelsea announce the signing of academy forward to excite the fans

Chelsea have announced on their official website that Academy forward Tyrique George has signed a new deal until 2027, with an additional one-year option. George is a popular player among Chelsea fans, particularly those who are totally committed to the club’s academy football programme.

During the second part of the season, the 18-year-old trained with the senior team regularly and appeared as a substitute in Chelsea’s Premier League triumphs over Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur.

He has also been a fixture in England’s young divisions, having just been promoted from the England U17s to the England U18s this season.

This is fantastic news, and we have high expectations for George. It comes at a time when competition among young players is heating up, and you wonder whether any of the academy players may try to move elsewhere, with Chelsea looking to sign all of the finest young stars from around the world right now, particularly in South America.

George joined the Blues’ development centre programme as an Under-8 and worked his way up through the Cobham Academy levels. He chooses to stay and battle at his boyhood club, hoping to make it to the first team setup permanently.

Tyrique George named Cole Palmer as an “inspiration” and someone he looks forward to after signing a new deal with the club.

George signed a new contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2027, with a club option for another year.

The 18-year-old played for both the under-18 and under-21 teams last season, helping the under-18s win the Premier League South title.

In times when the club is under fire for attempting to sell youth players such as Trevoh Chalobah and Conor Gallagher, it is encouraging to see the club safeguarding the futures of some of the academy’s top talents. George may make his Blues debuts next season under new manager Enzo Maresca.
