Nkunku could be a better investment over Alvarez for Chelsea

According to reports, there have been speculations of Chelsea trying to get the World Cup champion, Julian Alvarez, away from the Etihad to fulfil their need for midfielders, which would cost them £80m. However, the Blues can save a fortune by utilizing Christopher Nkunku, who joined Chelsea last summer on a six-year contract for a fee worth £52m.

The 26-year-old endured an injury-ridden season and couldn’t contribute enough on the pitch. Nkunku will hope to remain fit after he was not called up for the France squad ahead of Euro 2024, which gives him enough time to improve his fitness.

The forward hopes to replicate his Leipzig form at Chelsea, as he ended the 2022–23 season with the most goals and won the Bundesliga Golden Boot despite being out injured with a knee injury.
