Fabrizio Romano details Chelsea’s attacking transfer plans after Michael Olise failure with 2 signings touted

Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea will look for two attackers after withdrawing from the race to sign Michael Olise

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea are set to continue their summer transfer plans despite withdrawing from the race to sign Michael Olise, who is thought to have said yes to joining Bayern Munich on staggering wages.

The Blues will embark on a busy summer transfer, and the club’s target is signing two more attackers, a winger and a striker. The Blues are linked with the likes of John Duran and Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion. Estevao Willian is closing in on a move to the Blues but will join only in 2025.

That Chelsea decided to pull out of the race to sign Olise came as a big surprise after they have been wanting to sign the forward since last summer and also activated his release clause but failed to acquire him.

With Olise out of focus, the club has Nico Williams as one of the options for the left wing, as their right-wing is already stacked with the likes of Cole, Palmer, Noni Madueke, Omari Hutchinson and now the Willian deal could be completed soon.

It will also be better if the board takes Enzo Maresca’s input in signing attackers who can suit his style and help the club progress quicker than last season. Hopefully, Cheslea will sign some seasoned forwards, as we don’t need any more young players.

It seems like the Blues will be spending wisely this time and won’t go overboard for a player after they pulled out of the race to sign Olise, and it was one key example that if the player is out of their reach, the club won’t spend heavily this time.

This is a good sign because we didn’t need Olise necessarily, as we already have many options in that position. His signing would have made our attack more potent because he is certainly a quality player who can make a big difference.

There are plenty of gifted players the team can sign, and it appears the Blues want to run their own business. With a lengthy summer ahead of us, it will be interesting to watch who they choose to sign.
