The goal and celebration video quickly went viral on social media, and Willian posted a photo of himself celebrating on Instagram. He wrote, “Another incredible night. Victory, goal, congratulations to the whole team. We continue. God knows about all things.”

The 17-year-old winger scored the game-winning goal against Juventude in Brazil’s Serie A on Sunday night, hitting the back of the net with a thunderous strike. After reeling in elation, he chose to do Palmer’s hallmark manoeuvre as a reference to finally completing his transfer to Chelsea.

Willian will formally join his new colleagues in West London next summer, but in the meantime, he will continue to earn senior football experience at Palmeiras. Keen to make an impact after his big-money move to Europe, the youngster scored the game-winning second goal against Juventude.

Willian demonstrated his striker instincts in front of the goal by controlling a flick-on in the box and hitting the ball into the net with 15 minutes remaining to make it 2-1. As the wonderkid soaked up the attention, he chose to do Palmer’s legendary ‘cold’ celebration.
