Chelsea star proudly shows off his Miami Marlins jersey after linkup with MLB team

Chelsea star Axel Disasi poses with basketball team Miami Marlins

Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi seems to be spending his off days well after he was spotted in Miami with a basketball team. The Marlins were set to take on the Cardinals at LeanDepot Park in Miami. His appearance came before the Marlins game against the St. Louis Cardinals, which they lost 7-6. Football players usually spend their time holidaying in other countries.

Meanwhile, they also travel to the USA and watch basketball games. Miami has been one of the poorest teams in basketball, but Disasi was open to accepting his gift and posed with his jersey after the Marlins’ Instagram page posted the photo of the Chelsea centre-back.

The 26-year-old defender joined Chelsea last summer, which was a spontaneous signing for the Blues after the injury to Wesley Fofana. He was the only centre-back who was reliable throughout the season, while others suffered frequent injuries.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, the Blues finished the season in sixth place. Pochettino subsequently left the team with mutual consent, and the Blues appointed Enzo Maresca as their new manager. Maresca was given a five-year contract, indicating that the Blues intend to stick with Maresca for an extended period, even if the team’s results are not favourable.

One can say the defender had a decent season as it was his first Premier League campaign and he was the most utilised defender at the time when the West Londoners had only a few options available. The Frenchman will once again have a big role to play under head coach Maresca.

Until then, he will enjoy his off-season after he wasn’t picked by France for Euro 2024. It will be a good time for him far from the game, clear his head and meet other sports stars.

Chelsea will have a big season, and a lot of expectations will be placed on the managers and players to deliver at least a trophy and contend for the top four, as the young Blues squad has now played the full Premier League season and hopefully will be ready to challenge for trophies.
